Non-hematopoietic EPO-derived peptide that activates the innate repair receptor. Anti-inflammatory and tissue-protective without erythropoietic side effects.
Product information
ARA-290 is an 11-amino acid peptide derived from the structure of erythropoietin (EPO), specifically designed to activate the innate repair receptor (also known as the tissue-protective receptor or β-common receptor) without stimulating red blood cell production. While full-length EPO binds to both the erythropoietic receptor (causing red blood cell production) and the tissue-protective receptor (mediating anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects), ARA-290 selectively targets only the tissue-protective pathway.
This selective activation results in anti-inflammatory signaling, neuroprotection, improved tissue oxygenation, and accelerated wound healing, all without the hematocrit elevation and associated risks of traditional EPO. ARA-290 has shown promise in clinical research for diabetic neuropathy, sarcoidosis, and inflammatory conditions. This represents the evolution of EPO science, isolating the tissue repair benefits while eliminating the hematopoietic side effects.
