Thyroid peptide complex concentrate supporting thyroid cell function through natural bioregulation. Extract ultrafiltrate from young animal thyroid tissue. Made in Germany.

Product information

Thyreogen is the Khavinson thyroid peptide bioregulator (A-2), a natural extract complex from young animal thyroid gland sold as a 60-capsule daily supplement. Each capsule contains 20mg of thyroid extract (pcc-02). It is a peptide supplement, not a hormone: it contains no thyroxine, and it is not Thyrogen, the prescription thyrotropin drug.

The thyroid sets metabolic rate through T4 and T3, and its cell population thins with age. Published Khavinson work on thyroid peptides is sparse: one Russian-language study assessed a thyroid peptide bioregulator in adults with lowered thyroid function in the Magadan region (PubMed 16075681); the rest is the general organ-peptide literature, in which tissue extracts stimulated cultures of their matching organ (PubMed 11713572), reviewed systematically in 2021 (PubMed 34834147). None of these used this capsule. Matter's Thyreogen is made in Germany in a GMP facility, with 20mg of thyroid extract per capsule as printed on the box.

Naming: Thyreogen is not Thyrogen. Thyrogen (thyrotropin alfa) is a Genzyme prescription drug used in thyroid cancer care; Thyreogen is an over-the-counter peptide supplement, and the two share nothing but a few letters. Thyreogen is not a replacement for levothyroxine or any thyroid medication. Suggested use from the label: 2 capsules a day with food; one 60-capsule box is a 30-day course, repeated 2 to 3 times a year. Dietary supplement; not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Frequently asked questions

Which peptide is best for the thyroid?

No peptide is established as a thyroid treatment. Within the Khavinson line Thyreogen is the only thyroid-specific product: a natural thyroid extract complex sold as a capsule supplement to support normal thyroid cell function. BPC-157 and other research peptides have no thyroid data of note. Anyone with a thyroid condition should stay with their prescribed care.

What supplements are good for the thyroid?

Conventional thyroid nutrition centres on adequate iodine, selenium and iron, and on not over-supplementing any of them. Thyreogen is different: a thyroid peptide extract taken to support normal thyroid cell function, with no minerals and no hormones. It does not treat hypothyroidism or Hashimoto's disease; those need a clinician.

Is Thyreogen the same as Thyrogen?

No. Thyrogen is thyrotropin alfa, a prescription injection made by Genzyme and used in thyroid cancer testing and treatment. Thyreogen is a Khavinson peptide bioregulator, a thyroid extract in capsules sold as a dietary supplement. Search engines mix the two names; they are unrelated products with different makers, routes and purposes.

What is Thyreogen bioregulator?

Thyreogen is the thyroid peptide bioregulator in the Khavinson Cytamins line, product A-2. It is a low-molecular-weight peptide complex extracted from young animal thyroid gland, 20mg per capsule, 60 capsules per box, made in Germany in a GMP facility. Matter lists it as Thyroid Bioregulator (Thyreogen) and ships from the USA.

Are peptide bioregulators safe?

Thyreogen is sold as a dietary supplement, not a drug, with the standard FDA disclaimer on the box. The Khavinson literature reports good tolerability over 30-day courses, mostly from one research group. Adults only; not for pregnancy or nursing. Ask a healthcare professional if you have a medical condition or take medication, including thyroid medication.

How do you take Thyreogen?

Follow the label: 2 capsules a day with food. One 60-capsule box is a 30-day course, repeated 2 to 3 times a year in the Khavinson protocol. Store in a cool, dry place away from light. It is often paired with Adrenal Bioregulator (Glandokort); take thyroid medication as prescribed and separately.
